Anyone else lowkey struggling to balance uni work + side hustle?
Okay so I’m just gonna vent for a sec and also throw out a question how the hell do y’all balance everything? Like, I’m trying to juggle UNI, freelance stuff, and a part-time gig, and I’m starting to feel like I’m doing everything at 50% and nothing well. It’s been messing with my focus and motivation big time lately.
For context: I'm in my third year studying business admin, and I have always been one of those people who needs to be doing something. I freelance a bit in digital marketing (mostly social stuff for small businesses) and I work 10-15 hours a week at a coworking space downtown. On top of that, UNI assignments are nonstop. Like, you finish one group project and suddenly there's a 2,000-word reflective essay due in two days? Wild.
What’s been getting to me lately is the whole writing side of UNI. I don’t mind the creative stuff or presentations, but formal academic writing? Nooope. It’s just draining. Like, I get the point of it, but it feels so disconnected from anything I actually wanna do. Last week, I was literally up at 2am watching videos on how to structure a lit review and I still don’t think I nailed it. I even looked into getting some editing help or feedback from an academic writing service Dubai (shoutout to anyone who’s tried that was it worth it??), but I couldn’t decide if that was helpful or just me avoiding the work lol.
Anyway, I guess my question is: how do you guys manage your time and still make sure your assignments don’t suck? I’ve tried Notion, I have tried old-school planners, I even downloaded this fancy AI thing that’s supposed to help with productivity… but I still find myself procrastinating until I’m stressed out and writing stuff last minute. Which obv affects quality.
Would love to hear if anyone else is dealing with this or has found a system that actually works. Especially if you’ve got a side hustle or work outside of school. I feel like no one really talks about how hard it is to do both, especially when you're trying to, like, build a portfolio or keep up with clients.
Sorry this turned into a mini rant, but yeah open to any tips, apps, routines, even mindset stuff if it’s helped you keep things on track. Pls don’t just say “time management” unless you’re giving me a real breakdown of what that looks like, lol.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies
